Four to Eight Weeks - Ulpan Courses

Four to Eight Weeks at the Hebrew University: Ulpan

The Hebrew University ulpanim (modern Hebrew courses) are famous worldwide for their quality and success. Small classes, superb teachers, state of the art multimedia equipment and total immersion beyond the classroom add up to a formula to improve your Hebrew beyond all expectations.

Taking place every summer and winter during the University's holidays, they attract students from across the globe. By the end of your course, you could be talking a common language, reaching across international barriers and sharing your enjoyment of modern Hebrew.

Teachers place emphasis on internalising the language and understanding. Teaching methods range from traditional classroom instruction and conversation practice to language laboratory sessions that utilise a range of audiovisual educational aids. Students can expect to advance one level (there are six) in a one-month course, and up to two in a two-month course.

The special summer Jerusalem Ulpan takes students out of the classroom and into the context of Jerusalem itself, a learning experience like no other. Learn vocabulary in the morning; take a field trip to the market in the afternoon and haggle for goods to practise your new words.

But if you’d like to spend a summer immersed in learning the culture and history of Jerusalem in Jerusalem, then apply here!
